The "thumbs" are dark, and not really useable by image thefts. If a google user wants to see an image in its original size he is no longer on google but gets redirected to the website where he can see the images indeed in fullsize and not darkend, and more important..in their context as part of an fan art tribute gallery as example and with links to the artist profiles here on dA.
